The Pelican is a traditional pub and local real ale shop, with an adjoining restaurant and en-suite bed and breakfast accommodation. We are located just 15 minutes south of the historical city of Norwich, in the quaint village of Tacolneston near Wymondham, south Norfolk. We believe strongly in fresh local produce whilst supporting a number of small local communities. We have a strong clear philosophy, offering ‘choice, quality and value for money’, whilst ensuring that all our customers feel welcome and valued in a friendly, clean and relaxed environment.

Our traditional pub is one of Norfolk's oldest inns, with its history dating back to the 16th century.  We have lovingly and sympathetically restored the building and its surroundings, remaining full of character and charm becoming one of Norfolk's most popular destination pubs and eateries in the area. 'In fact we have just been rated as the Independents top 50 pubs in the U.K May 2012'.  

The pub itself comprises of soft leather sofas, stone floors, old oak beams and a large open fire place, we believe in home comforts and want our customers to feel relaxed, well looked after and comfortable in their surroundings whether drinking, dining or frequenting ourB&B.

The luxury en-suite Bed and Breakfast and our traditional Norfolk pub will add a distinct but complementary character to your visit. Here, there is an excellent range of bar / restaurant meals that can be enjoyed by an open fire or within our 40 cover established.

The alfresco heated dining area, large conservatory and family ‘award winning’ garden makes this a perfect pub destination for a summers’ day out and local Norfolk holidays. We also warmly encourage local groups and businesses to hold their meetings with us, and have facilities for large parties, wedding receptions and restaurant private hire.
